The word tiffin (or dabba) is also used as a name for a lunchbox. Traditionally these are round, with three or four stacking stainless steel compartments with a lid, a side clip to avoid spillages and a handle for carrying on top. The separate compartments in the tiffin lunch box accommodate various servings like vegetable, pulse, salad, rice, etc. perfectly. Tiffin culture is an intrinsic part of urban and rural India.

What is the activity?

The child learns to stack the different containers together to create the whole dabba. When unstacked, the child must take the objects from the black container at the base and sort the different objects as per colour or shape into the respective colour container.

What are stacking & sorting toys?

These toys can begin to develop your child's fine motor skills, colour discrimination & sorting. The development of motor skills is a very important stage of any child's growth process. The ability to identify colours and shapes is considered a milestone in a child’s cognitive process and is often part of early screening for development and educational admittance.
